A Message From Melanie
I was born and raised in rural Mississippi, a place my
family has called home for eight generations. I was taught
a deep understanding of public service and community
involvement, with various members of my family holding
office in our state and community for more than a century.
Through volunteer and professional positions, I have
decades of experience in agriculture and small business
management, including economic and community
development. I believe the best attributes of Southwest
Mississippi are our people and natural resources. My
unique personal and professional experiences, along with
my legislative track record of getting things done, make me
the candidate most qualified to serve the people of
Southwest Mississippi.
Sadly, our traditional conservative values are under attack
by liberals in Washington and Jackson. It will require bold
action to turn things around. I have been recognized for
having “political courage” by political observers across the
country, earning a reputation of someone who will fight for
you. Whether defending the unborn, the Second
Amendment, or our precious religious liberties, I vow to
never back down on what is most important to us. And I
will support President Trump as he continues his fight
against the swamp and rampant corruption in Washington,
D.C.
My record demonstrates that I can work with many
different entities and personalities to produce positive
results. Working with you and our local and state leaders,
Southwest Mississippi will always have a strong advocate,
and our people will always have a seat at the table. My
work in the Mississippi Senate shows that I can work with
others as we march toward the common goal of improving
Mississippi. My record speaks for itself -- I will get things
done to make Southwest Mississippi a better place.
I am proud of the progress we have already accomplished
together, but there is more to be done.
I humbly ask for your vote. And with your permission, I
eagerly look forward to continuing our work. We will join
together and defend our conservative values. We will also
work toward the common goal of creating a positive
business environment, providing opportunity and jobs for
our children so they can stay home in Mississippi and raise
their families. We will put Mississippi first.
Working together, we can defend our Mississippi values,
strengthen our economy, and get results for Southwest
Mississippi. With each of you, we can make those goals a
reality.
Melanie
